EB120 - Computer-Controlled Ethanol Boiler The EB120 advanced ethanol boiler system is more than just an automated boiler. The features and controls built into the EB120 enable it to be the heart of your advanced ethanol production system. Fully automated with its own onboard computer system, the EB120 operates like no other ethanol boiler. This unique, one-of-a-kind system was specifically engineered for turning your beer into ethanol in the most rapid, efficient, and automated way. The system was designed to supply high volumes of steam to all types of column and FSS type distillation columns ranging from 3" to 6" diameter. If you have a Charles 803, an FSS, or other similar type of still, the EB120 is your ideal choice. This system goes from startup to pumping steam into your still in around 5 minutes! Why wait for hours for traditional boilers? How it works... The EB120 contains a stainless steel boiler tank, an array of heating elements, an on-board computer system that controls everything, and an assortment of pumps, electric valves, probes, and sensors. The system pumps beer from your external fermentation tank directly into its boiler, and automatically keeps it refilled as the boiling process continues, while typically converting around 40 gallons/hour into steam. Not only does the EB120 automatically pump and boil the beer, it also features an external temperature probe and a computer-controlled proportional solenoid valve that precisely controls the cooling water for your still. With this system you can replace the dial thermometer and the Johnson or Sterlco temperature controlled valve on your still. And via the included custom temperature probe, the onboard computer checks your still's temperature once per second and adjusts the internal proportional solenoid valve to supply the still cooling coils with the water flow needed to maintain 173 degrees. The control temperature can be changed via the remote control, to add flexibility to your system. The included remote control provides a digital reading of your still temperature, a digital timer, and even has a built-in control for an external pump that can be used for mixing or transferring liquids between the tanks in your system. Temperatures can be displayed in Fahrenheit or Celsius, and the timer is programmable for flexibility or scheduled use. Finally, as if these weren't enough features, the EB120 can also be remotely controlled with a personal computer to add even more capabilities or automation to an even larger system. The EB120 is ideally sized and suited as a central component in a small to medium-sized ethanol production system. Capacities: There are many variables when calculating output capacities of ethanol systems such as initial beer proof, beer temperature before boiling, type of still, diameter and height of still (an/or column packing material for a packed column type), accuracy of control temperature, and many other factors. Notwithstanding the possible variances, the EB120 typically converts around 40 gallons of beer per hour into 100% steam. If, for example, you have a 40 gallon batch of beer fermented to 40 proof (20% alcohol by volume) you would be able to fully process that batch of beer in one hour, which, depending on the efficiency of your still, would yield up to 8 gallons of ethanol in one hour. NOTE: The EB120 is not a complete ethanol system. It is only a boiler and control system. You would need to provide your own fermentation tanks, distillation column, pumps, plumbing, etc. Features
