Feedstocks can be cellulose, starch, or sugar based. Turn what is discarded into ethanol such as old sodas, soda syrup, or fruit that did not meet picking requirements for the store shelves. Depending on the feedstock, the way it is processes will vary. Below are various integrated modules to meet your feedstock needs. In the end, feedstocks need to be broken down into simple sugars for fermentation to create a "beer" for distillation.

Feedstock Milling Modules

Feedstock milling components break feedstock into small particles for processing with enzymes. Feedstocks that require milling can be cellulose based such as grass, cardboard, or wood. Or the feedstock may be sugar or starched based such as sugarcane, sweet sorghum, grains, fruits, or roots like sweet potatoes.

Hammer Mill – Hammer mills can be used to process many kinds of feedstock materials from cardboard boxes to watermelon. A hammer mill is essentially a steel drum containing a vertical or horizontal rotating shaft or drum on which hammers are mounted. The hammers are free to swing on the ends of the cross, or fixed to the central rotor. The rotor is spun at a high speed inside the drum while material is fed into a feed hopper. The material is impacted by the hammer bars and is thereby shredded and expelled through screens in the drum.

Sugarcane/Sweet Sorghum Crusher – Crushers may be used to extract sugar juice from cane feestocks. These crushing have rollers to crush feedstock to extract juices. These machines are specially designed to give uniformity, higher extraction and considerably greater output.

Fruit Juicers – For apples and other fruit feedstocks, we offer a line of juice extactors and concentrators to preprocessing of fruits and some vegetables.

Rotary Collider– The rotary collider is a system taken from the mining industry that takes hard rocks such as granite and utilizes "eddie currents" to pulverize into fine powder. The collider is ideal for hard grain feedstocks such as rice, corn, and other grains.

Sacchrification, Liquification Processing Modules

Feedstock that is cellulose, starch, or complex sugar based will require a cooking process to break down the cellulose, starch, or complex sugars in to simple sugars. We have a complete line of cookers to meet your type of feedstock requirements.

Cooking Modules– The cookers are durable, quick heating, and easy to use with touch screens and enzyme dispensers. The cookers are programmable to precise cooking times for specific feedstocks.

Vapor Compression Concentrator Modules

Optimal sugar content for feedstocks is between 20 to 30 brix (percent). Concentrators can increase the feedstock sugar content for optimal processing for cents on the gallon of ehtanol. Concentration is provided through the removal of water with a vapor compression unit. It is constructed of rectangular steel frame and stainless steel components.

Modular Refineries Components

The EFS "Modular-Refinery" line of automated ethanol fuel systems has a full line of components from feedstock milling to anhydrous ethanol dehydration.
