Once Feedstock has been broken down into simple sugars, it's time to ferment. Yeast and water is added to the sugary feedstock mixture. Yeast organisms consume sugars and produce ethanol and carbon dioxide as waste products. Fermentation is done in tanks. The fermentation process will generally take 3 to 4 days. For a continuous operation,  five sets of fermentation tanks will be required to provide continuous daily operation. One set of tanks will be fermented and used for the day’s distillation process. Three sets of tanks will be fermenting, and the fifth tank set will be prepared for a new fermentation batch.

Tanks can be expensive to ship, so our recommendation for fermentation tanks is to source them locally to avoid expensive shipping charges. If you need tanks, and you are local to the Dallas area, we would be happy to work with you on tanks.sensor

Sensor Package Modules

Allard Research has a number of sensor packages including monitoring tank levels, brix and alcohol readings, and temperature for all areas of your ethanol plant. It may be possible to automate existing components you may already have in place. Fermentation level and alcohol sensors are available to automate your fermentation process and monitor with our master control module.
